Life in the Long Grass

We've finally got all the beautiful colors of this yarn online!

A word from owner and dyer of Life in the Long Grass, Caroline Niland of County Cork Ireland. "Our name represents the natural life of the wool that we dye.  Wonderful sheep braving the elements and a way of life where taking the time to make something and enjoying the process is as important as the wool itself.  We are crazy about texture and rustic living and are inspired by our surroundings in the countryside, you will spot this in our main body of colorways."

We are sooooo happy to have these beauties back on the shelves!

Dream in Color Classy

We are restocked in one of our favorites, Dream in Color Classy. This 100% superwash merino wool is a generous 250 yards.

We've knit so many great items out of this workhorse yarn. Cowls, mittens, hats, and of course the Hiro Sweater:)

Peep Colorway

We are able to get more skeins of our Peep Colorway from Lavender Lune.

Remember, the pattern for both the KAL and CAL are now available on Ravelry if you want to participate but weren't able to score a kit.

Also, if you still need a kit, Muse2320 might still be dying them up. Click here.

Sock it Club

We have 3 extra Dream in Color Sock Club kits up for grabs.

This month was designed with a Beta Fish in mind. The red in this photo is really a beautiful deep coral color. It's amazing.

Where oh where are you all?

Hey Building Blocks Knitters? You still out there?

This photo represents the last few months of our Building Blocks 2020 class. Just me, Rena and Lily.

Now, the 3 of us have a great time, don't get me wrong...but they would really love to see someone else's face but mine. My stories are getting old.

I do always tell the class, in January, that by summer, there would be far less people attending. Usually only a handful end up coming during the busy summer months. Summer nights are fleeting and people are busy soaking it all up. So, they were ready for a drop in our class size, but this is ridiculous! Ha!

So...if you are a current Building Block knitter, we want you back! Don't worry if you are still on the block from March, no judgement here. Don't sweat it if you are already working on November's block because you cruised on ahead. Don't worry if you don't even really want to knit the dang thing, but could use a little company.

Rena, Lily and I will be there for you at our next session on Wednesday, Sept 9th.

If you want to start the Building Blocks book and join us for the rest of the year. Call us, reply to this email, or stop in and we'll get you all set up.

We hope to see you then!!  Rena and Lily REALLY hope to see you then!

Pay Parking

We were surprised to learn that the city has now started to charge for parking in our big city lot. This is the lot to the south of the shop next to the paddle boats.

It was free Monday - Thursday and only pay on the weekends, but, it's now pay everyday.

Luckily, it's only a pay lot until November 1st, then it will be free all winter as normal.

Remember, you can always park in our back lot off of Nelson Street for free. It's called the Brick Alley Parking Lot. Yes, it says permit only...don't worry about it. Park there anyway and pop on in. I promise you it doesn't cost you any money and you won't get ticketed.

I took this picture the other day...maybe there was a Subaru/Kayak convention in town:)

Malabrigo Finito

We just received a shipment of a "new to us" yarn from Malabrigo.

Finito is a fingering weight 3 ply 100% superwash merino.

200 yards/50 grams

Same beautiful colors that you know and love.
