Andrew George MP has visited a group of Youth Work apprentices who are undertaking training through the pilot Youth Work Apprenticeship scheme which is a joint initiative between the Cornwall Apprenticeship Agency (CAA), PCDT and CYWP.

The scheme was launched last month and they are already providing valuable roles at respective organisations across the region such as the YMCA, Devon and Cornwall Housing, Young People Cornwall and Carefree Cornwall.

The first cohort of apprentices began their one-year apprenticeship last month and the CAA is currently recruiting a second cohort of apprentices, due to begin in March. The CAA specialises in providing a flexible and bespoke service to employers and apprentice candidates. It has successfully created nearly 700 apprenticeships across a wide range of sectors within the last two years.

Kooth are in Need of Community Settings

Kooth are in need of community settings to see young people for counselling sessions. Due to changes in other community organisations, they need to find rooms that have other staff present so they are not lone working and are open outside of school hours. Although not in a position to pay for rooms, Kooth would be appreciative of any offers which enables them to continue to meet the needs of young people.

Counselling rooms are required in Bodmin, Camborne, Truro and Penzance. Would welcome offers and any ideas! Thank you.
