Voluntary & Community Sector Children & Young People Conference

IVO - Learning and Development Network Voluntary & Community Sector Children & Young People Conference The New Future!
26th June 2015, 9am – 1:30pm at Pool innovation Centre, Trevenson Road, Pool, Redruth
A conference for voluntary and community sector groups and organisations that work with children and young people. The conference aim is to help us all understand the environment for children & young people with the impact of ongoing budget cuts. To equip the sector to develop smart responses.

Commissioning for 11+ Services

An information notice has been published on Tenders in Cornwall, setting out the timetable and activity for the commissioning process for 11+ services.
The 11+ commissioning and procurement activity began on 20 May 2015. Contracts will be awarded on 22 August 2015 and will commence on 1 October 2015. Contracts for the provision of services will include a phased implementation of the service delivery over three months, to 31 December 2015.

Twelves Company have released new dates for 2 day Domestic Abuse, Stalking and Harassment (DASH) training and 1 day Domestic Abuse Awareness Training. For more information on the content of the training, please click here

Young Fathers Workers

Brook and WILD are very pleased to announce that they were successful in obtaining a Big Lottery grant to extend the reach of young fathers work in Cornwall. This is something both organisations have long advocated and campaigned for and the result is that Brook will be employing two new Young Fathers Workers to work in the east and west of the county. If you are interested in applying for either of these roles please follow this link.

Opportunities with 2nd Chance Project

2C Training Academy have a number of Traineeships for those interested in Sports Coaching or Fitness Instructing. All learners achieve a Level 2 Award in Principles of Coaching Sport if they choose the coaching pathway or a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction (Gym) for those interested in fitness. 2nd Chance Project are offering 16-18 years olds a FREE one week course to support their first step into a Coaching Career. The week long course will run 09:30 – 16:30, Monday 29th June – Friday 3rd July 2015 (including a practical assessment). This course is limited to 20 places. Click here to view the flyer.

Groundwork South Courses
Groundwork South is now offering some LEAP courses in Saltash using their new training centre building at Saltmill Pavilion.  They are offering the following courses:

Entry 3 LEAP Into Horticulture
Entry 3 LEAP Into Sport and Active Leisure
Entry 3 LEAP Into Youth Work

They are also offering a Money Twist session for 11-14 year olds who would like to learn more about what money is for, where it came from, budgeting, saving, shopping, banks etc. Click here for more information.
