Introducing United Response, a new CYWP member

Cornwall Supported Employment is a service that specialises in working with both adults and young people with learning disabilities, Aspergers and Autism. We are part of a national charity – United Response - who have been working across England and Wales for over 30 years, enabling people with disabilities to take control of their lives.

Our service supports people to undertake work related activities and get paid employment. Through mentoring / one to one support with experienced Job Coaches, accessible Work Clubs and tailor made training packages for individuals (including travel training) and  working closely with employers, we deliver a comprehensive package of pre and post employment support that works.

Since our inception, we have delivered a large number of successful employment related programmes throughout Cornwall e.g. Cornwall Works for Learning Disabilities (CWLD), FSF - Making a Difference to Families ‘Learn to Work Together’.

We currently offer specialist provision under a number of programmes including:

  • Work programme (Working Links and Prospects)
  • Freestyle
  • Skills Support for the Unemployed

Contact us at by email or by telephone: 01827 250150.

CATS Wins Big Society Award
Community Action Through Sports (CATS) is the latest winner of the Prime Minister’s Big Society Awards.
The Cornwall and Devon based organisation (and CYWP member) has been commended by David Cameron for their work in promoting, recognising and rewarding positive community action by young people through sport and social activities.
Originally established in 2005 in Bude, North Cornwall, the organisation won a three-year BIG Lottery grant in 2011 to help its work in harnessing young people’s interest in sport around the Olympics.  With the help of this funding they expanded from one branch to 15 across the South West in just over two years.

If you are interested in setting up a local CATS branch to take advantage of these tailor made programmes for young people, contact Programme Lead Karen Hemmings at
