Introducing a New Member - White Gold Cornwall

White Gold Cornwall began in 2003 working with young people who were at risk of offending and proved to be very successful.  However, central Government funding was cut and as a result White Gold Cornwall Community Interest Company was formed in 2011.

The Team work with vulnerable, at risk young people ages between 7 and 21 and address the same issues in an assessment/mentoring/advocacy role.

White Gold work very closely with schools, Social Care and the Police which is where the funding is provided and are currently mid-West operationally but hope to work in the East in the near future.  The Patron of White Gold Cornwall is Colonel Edward Bolitho, Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall.

For more information, please contact White Gold by email, telephone  01209 310 676 or visit the website.

The new programme, which will run from 2014-2020 aims to continue this good work.

Proving Impact
The Department for Education has been working with the Centre for Analysis of Youth Transitions (CAYT) to set up an open access data bank of quality assured impact studies on services and programmes that support the development of young people, such as those charged with preventing risky behaviour or ensuring better labour market outcomes for young people.

Those who deliver programmes for young people can have their evaluation studies assessed for impact and quality and then deposited in the repository so that users can know whether their service has genuine impact.  The webpage also includes useful information on how to get good evidence which measures impact, rather than just showing that a service has been delivered.

The repository allocates each study an impact and a quality grade.  There are currently 13 programmes in the repository with more to be added in the next couple of months.
