Happy Summer!

Never have I been so glad that we put in that Mitsubishi Split Heat/AC unit upstairs! I see people complaining about the heat (typical Seattleites) and I have to remind myself that it is hot outside! Best investment I ever made. If you want a good referral, let me know.

Summer means many things to us. So many of you have just left town for a month or so while others enjoy Seattle at what some feel it is her best. The summer months for real estate are always a bit slower. Homes stay on the market a bit longer, for the most part the frenzied multiple offers have taken a back seat to sane offers. Speaking to a lender the other day, he said he even has two files that are contingent offers. SO, if you are a Buyer, this is a great time to get back on the horse and secure that home before the fall months. If you are a Seller, let’s keep things in perspective…it is still a good time to have a home to sell in Seattle. You just need to temper your expectations of news headlines of 20 offers and things spiraling off list price like crazy. It still happens but with much less frequency. There is a lot of inventory now (relatively speaking for the Buyers to choose from).

In my continued commitment to being able to serve my smart sizing clients better, I am going to be in a seminar for two full days in Federal Way at Aging Options. I will be studying under Rajiv Nagaich, who some of you might already listen to on KIRO. I agree with him that traditional retirement planning fails the majority of retirees. Even if you are not 50+, you might have parents or neighbors or good friends who are that might benefit from this information. I will report back!
