Greentown Labs is growing, here's how:

Hello friends,

Where did Q1 go?!
A lot happened at Greentown Labs since the last time we connected. We attended some great events including ARPA-E, the Smart Energy Decisions Conference and the MIT Clean Energy Prize kickoff; held a startup day with our partner United Technologies; welcomed a new member company, Flipswitch; and hosted a few events where we revealed four new partners: State Street Corporation, Cooper Perkins, Panasonic and Xively by LogMeIn.

And in addition to the valuable growth of our partner network, we're excited to share the other key growth areas Greentown Labs is focusing on:

  • Our community + campus expansion to support more startups (see video below);
  • Our team growth (welcome Adam + Matt to our Manufacturing Initiative!); and
  • Our international reach and relationships.

More specifically, we're putting a concerted effort toward expanding our connections abroad. We recognize how challenging it is for startups to enter new markets which is why we want to support early-stage companies from around the world as they enter the U.S. market. We're eager to provide these startups with the community, resources and network they need to succeed and our work here is already underway: Greentown Labs is a proud partner in the MassCEC MAtCH program which immerses Swiss startups in Massachusetts and Massachusetts startups in Switzerland to support their new market entry. We're working closely with our friends in Lyon, France, to uncover similar possibilities for collaboration as well. Do you know any international startups that want to expand their business operations into the U.S.? Please send them our way!

We'll be in touch again soon with more information about our community's growth and our Global Center's progress but if you have any questions in the interim, please don't hesitate to reach out

Cheers,
The Greentown Labs Team

We're excited to share a video highlighting how the blueprints for our new Global Center for Cleantech Innovation will come to life—please check it out and let us know what you think!
