Davey Craddock Tours Acclaimed Debut City West From Nashville to Dashville
West Australian singer songwriter Davey Craddock heads out on his third tour in support of debut album City West next week - bringing his distinctive, story-based brand of 'Australicana' to AmericanaFest in Nashville, Dashville Skyline Festival in the Hunter Valley plus Sydney, Melbourne and a run of regional shows in WA's picturesque Wheatbelt.
Since releasing City West in February this year, Craddock's lyrically-dense tunes have been embraced by Double J and the ABC nationally, with Radio National's Paul Gough suggesting "that’s what sets [him] apart... little nuances come through and you know you’re listening to an Aussie singing a song”. Invitations to support Don Walker, The Waifs, Diana Krall, Darren Hanlon and to perform at folk festivals right across the country have followed, with Craddock's beguiling songwriting growing him a national fanbase.
Before heading back into RADA Studios to complete album number two, Craddock and his band will jump in the van next week to hone a suite of new songs in classic country pubs and halls throughout WA's Wheatbelt as part of WAM's Wheatbelt Touring initiative. He'll then head to Nashville's legendary Bluebird Cafe for an Australian songwriters' showcase as part of AmericanaFest 2016.
