Thank you for your generosity in 2021.

Dear <<First Name>>:

Because of you, the Key West Wildlife Center helped over 1,500 wild birds and other native wildlife this year. From warblers to pelicans and turtles to opossums, the Wildlife Center has been fulfilling our mission to ensure the future of our diverse native wildlife by providing timely rescues and quality rehabilitation with the hope of release back to the wild.

Great Blue Heron releasedOne great example of our work this year is the recent rescue of a Great Blue Heron. Reported at Trumbo Point by residents, the heron had multiple fishing hooks and lines embedded in her foot. She also had severe wounds on her right leg that, without care, would likely mean a loss of toes. Our clinic team removed the hooks, cleaned and bandaged her foot, and placed her in a quiet space to recover. After daily support for several weeks, and a regimen of increasing opportunities to walk and fly, we released her back to the ocean she calls home. Successes such as this illustrate the joy we find in our work.

With all our winter species in residence, the number of patients admitted to the center rises exponentially this time of year. Can you help us ensure their care? Your gift to our End-of-Year Campaign will support our busiest rescue and rehab season. Please make your gift at www.keywestwildlifecenter.org or send a check to the address below.

And follow us on Facebook to see more stories of how your support allows us to protect our treasured wildlife.

Thank you for your continued commitment.

Sincerely,
