Meet the new Director of RDA Moreton Bay

Meet the new Director of RDA Moreton Bay, Nette Griggs.

Nette Griggs has had an extensive career in local and state government and the community sector in different parts of Australia including areas as diverse as the City of Sydney and Woomera in the South Australian outback and East Timor.

She has managed a wide variety of services and facilities and she has led significant organisational change agendas and participated in contentious urban renewal projects.

Nette is looking forward to working with the RDAMB Board to progress the new RDA Charter and building on the work and outcomes accomplished by Andrew and Jason over the past few years.


Be part of a Trade Mission to India

Small Business Association of Australia are taking SME’s to India on their next trade mission from 6-15 May 2018. They are looking for entrepreneurs, business owners and those wanting better opportunities to grow or expand their businesses overseas.

The Indian market has immense potential and lots to offer SME’s and entrepreneurs in Australia.  Indian businesses are eager to connect and invest, they speak English and have some understanding of western culture. The population is confident and hungry for knowledge, quality goods and services, and the government utterly cooperative.


Sign up to the Queensland Government's Back to Work Program

Back to Work gives Queensland employers the confidence to take on someone new and the opportunity to grow their business.

From 1 January 2018, the Queensland Government’s Back to Work (Regional and South East Queensland) program will provide support for employers who hire an unemployed mature aged jobseeker between 1 January 2018 and 30 June 2018 (subject to the availability of funds).


Apply for the Queensland Destination Events Program

Do you run an event that encourages tourism and economic development in your region?  You might like to see if you are eligible for Queensland Destination Events Program funding.

The QDEP offers two funding options for regional events:


  • Destination event funding – single year funding for developing events seeking growth ($10,000 - $25,000 per year)
  • Significant event funding – single year or up to three years of funding for events that can demonstrate a strong track record of growth or growth potential ($25,000 - $100,000 per year)


Apply now for the Business Growth Fund Program 

Round 1 of the Business Growth Fund Program is now open for applications!  Funding is available for businesses to purchase highly specialised equipment or services.

The fund will enable successful applicants to purchase and implement specialised equipment or services to help them seize growth opportunities.


Submit your application for the Ignite Ideas Fund

Queensland startups and small businesses can apply for up to $250,000 in funding to advance their innovative products and services under Round 4 of the Advance Queensland Ignite Ideas fund, which is now open for applications.

Grants of up to $250,000 (excluding GST) to support activities that will test and implement commercialisation plans for a product, process or service that is market-ready; or in a local market and ready to scale into new markets; or has the potential to significantly disrupt or ‘step-change’ key industries in Queensland.


Small Business Digital Grants Program now open

he Small Business Digital Grants Program provides small businesses with access to digital technologies and services to enable them to work smarter, engage with the global economy and make the most of online business opportunities arising from digital disruption.

Matched funding of up to $10,000 (excluding GST) may be provided to eligible businesses for the purchase of hardware, software and services (such as digital coaching). 


Applications now open for the Arts Business Innovation Fund (ABIF)

The Arts Business Innovation Fund (ABIF, the Fund) addresses the need to support innovation to strengthen income generating and entrepreneurial capacity in Queensland-based not-for-profit arts and cultural businesses.

ABIF provides a $1 million investment for not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations. Both the Queensland Government and TFFF have contributed $500,000 to the fund.


Attend an Innovate Queensland capacity building event for your business

Innovate Queensland’s capacity building workshops, webinars, and collaboration activities are helping innovators, entrepreneurs and organisations across the state to turn ideas into income and support inventors wanting to see their technologies transform industries and applications.

More than 1000 people have attended Innovate Queensland training events and given them an overall satisfaction rating of 92%. In surveys, nearly 60% have reported they’ve already taken their innovation plans further.
