Local companies called to tender for child safety office fit out in Morayfield

The Palaszczuk Government has called on eligible Queensland companies to tender for government office fit out works for a new Child Safety Service Centre in Morayfield.

Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan said "The project will include fitting out an existing building in Morayfield to provide work areas and meeting rooms, and family friendly spaces for interactions with Child Safety.

“Works will involve installing office partitions and workstations, constructing meeting rooms and laying new flooring.”

Social Media Bootcamp for Queensland Startups

Do you want a strong social media presence for your business? This Social Media Bootcamp is usually $397, but thanks to Moreton Technology Alliance and the Advance Queensland Startup Grants, the bootcamp is being offered for just $40.

To be eligible for a subsidised place you need an ABN registered in Queensland and to have been in operation for less than 3 years.

The online interactive sessions cover the foundations of social media, creating a strategy, detailed content creation, reputation management, customer service, systems and processes, a social media toolkit and how to measure return on investment.

Start-ups advance programs

ADVANCE Queensland funded mentoring programs for Moreton Bay entrepreneurs have assisted 20 new innovative businesses in 12 months, Innovation Minister Leeanne Enoch said.

Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay was successful in obtaining $23,000 support through Advance Queensland.

$1 billion more for infrastructure and roads in the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay

Queensland Government Minister for Environment Dr Steven Miles said the road projects were complemented by the massive infrastructure projects underway in the region.

“Across the state, we are working with councils to build projects that will make a real difference to communities and deliver local jobs,” Dr Miles said.

“We are delivering major infrastructure projects such as a new primary school in Caloundra South and major hospital upgrades at Caloundra and Caboolture.”

National Firearms Amnesty starts

Australia’s first National Firearms Amnesty aimed at reducing the number of unregistered firearms in our community runs form 1 July to 30 September 2017.

During the three-month amnesty, anyone can hand in unregistered firearms or firearm-related items for registration or surrender at approved drop-off points without penalty and without fear of prosecution.

What is Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay?

Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay (RDAMB) is part of a national network of organisations, which in Queensland is funded through the Australian Government to promote the economic development of the Moreton Bay region.

The role of RDAMB is to:

  • Develop and implement a Regional Plan
  • Provide advice on critical issues affecting the region
  • Identify and implement initiatives to tackle the region's economic development priorities
  • Generate project proposals for the National Stronger Regions Fund
  • Promote Australian Government Programs.
