Launch of the Sweetest Job campaign a huge success!
The Sweetest Job campaign was launched recently on Thursday 26th May by Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Alan Sutherland and Adrian Raedel, Councillor for Division 12.

Post launch the campaign has attracted a huge amount of publicity on multiple media channels, including television, radio, print media and social media.

The Sweetest Job campaign has on offer 6000+ strawberry field jobs for the upcoming strawberry picking season in the Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast regions.  Hundreds of interested job seekers flooded the campaign website overnight after the launch, making the event a huge success for the industry and project partners RDA Moreton Bay and the Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast Councils.

Find out about the Moreton Bay Region Community Grants Program
The Community Grants Program enables Moreton Bay Regional Council to support community organisations and individuals to positively contribute to community wellbeing and the cultural life of the region. Funding is available to support a variety of projects such as the development of community facilities, local events, small equipment purchases, and arts and cultural activities.
Applications are invited from 1 July to 31 August 2016.  Information workshops will be held throughout the region to promote the new round and to provide information to prospective applicants. 

Funding for your Startup Business
The Startup Queensland fund is designed to support Queensland’s entrepreneurial/startup ecosystem by assisting young entrepreneurial firms to commercialise innovative ideas.

The $300,000 Startup Queensland fund aims to build capability within Queensland's startup community. A 'startup' is defined as a new high-growth potential business, developing innovative products and services, with a globally scalable market.

Funding is available for up to 50% of your total eligible activity costs, up to a maximum of $25,000 (excluding GST) per activity.  Total activity costs may include in-kind contributions.
Moreton Bay Region Chambers of Commerce all meet for the first time
Initiated and hosted by Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay, the region's nine Chambers of Commerce came together over lunch for the first time on 9 June.

The focus of the lunch was to promote collaboration, information and knowledge sharing.

A key outcome was an agreement to provide reciprocal membership benefits across the Moreton Bay Region Chamber of Commerce network.

The lunch was attended by representatives of Bribie Island, North Lakes, Pine Rivers, Redcliffe City, Hills & District and Samford Chambers of Commerce, Commerce Caboolture, Commerce & Industry Redcliffe Peninsula, Moreton Bay Central Commerce, BPW North Lakes, BPW Caboolture, CCIQ, Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism and Moreton Bay Regional Council.

What is Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay?

Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay (RDAMB) is part of a national network of organisations, which in Queensland is funded through the Australian Government to promote the economic development of the Moreton Bay region.

The role of RDAMB is to:

  • Develop and implement a Regional Plan
  • Provide advice on critical issues affecting the region
  • Identify and implement initiatives to tackle the region's economic development priorities
  • Generate project proposals for the National Stronger Regions Fund
  • Promote Australian Government Programs.
