Apply for the Accelerate Small Business Grants Program
This grant is targeted at established Queensland-based small businesses that are financially sound and have the potential for high-growth over the next 1 to 2 years.

Matching funding of up to $10,000 (excluding GST) may be provided to eligible businesses to engage business mentors, coaches, or an advisory board, for 6 to 12 months. The funding must be matched by a cash contribution from the participating business.
MBRIT wins Queensland Tourism award
Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) brought home gold on Friday 11 November, 2016 from the Queensland Tourism awards, winning the Richard Power award for Destination Marketing, as well as, the Outstanding Contribution by a Volunteer Group award.

Pastures New: Anthony Dow leaves RDA Moreton Bay
Business Cluster Manger for RDA Moreton Bay, Anthony Dow, will be saying goodbye to RDA to take up his new role as Economic Development Manager at Noosa Regional Council.  

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity that fits on a number of levels for Anthony and his family, especially as they are based on the Sunshine Coast and involved in the Noosa community.

Digital initiatives to help small business work smarter
A new program to help Queensland small business improve their engagement in the digital economy was opened by Small Business Minister Leeanne Enoch on 8 November.  

The Small Business Digital Grants will provide up to $10,000, matched by participants, to embrace digital technologies and opportunities arising from digital disruption.

CLICK Digital Expo – Moreton Technology Alliance in demand
The digital and technology talent of the Moreton Bay region was on show at the CLICK! Digital expo held in Brisbane on Friday 11 November. 

The Moreton Technology Alliance (MTA) point of difference was obvious as more and more people arrived at our stand after being directed to find out just how we managed to form a regional collaboration of technology businesses.  
Ikea’s second store in Queensland opens in North Lakes
Thousands flocked for the opening of Ikea’s second Queensland store at North Lakes in the Moreton Bay region on 17th November 2016. 

Crowd members camped out front of the store for the opening and travelled from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

The brand-new store is part of major expansion plans at the North Lakes Westfield complex, which include a new restaurant precinct and cinema.

What is Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay?

Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay (RDAMB) is part of a national network of organisations, which in Queensland is funded through the Australian Government to promote the economic development of the Moreton Bay region.

The role of RDAMB is to:

  • Develop and implement a Regional Plan
  • Provide advice on critical issues affecting the region
  • Identify and implement initiatives to tackle the region's economic development priorities
  • Generate project proposals for the National Stronger Regions Fund
  • Promote Australian Government Programs.
