The Sweetest Job campaign, an initiative of Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay, has kicked off again for 2017 and this year sees the campaign expanded to a range of businesses involved in food and agribusiness throughout the Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast regions.

Youth Jobs Path
Youth Jobs PaTH is a new, flexible program designed to prepare young people for work. It also encourages employers to trial a young person for a job by offering interns and financial incentives to reduce the cost of recruitment. Youth Jobs PaTH has three elements: Prepare - Trial - Hire.
 
Research and Development (R&D) Tax Incentive
The Research and Development (R&D) Tax Incentive offsets some of the costs of doing eligible R&D activities. Companies must lodge an application to register within 10 months after the end of their income year.
 
Entrepreneurs' Programme
The Entrepreneurs’ Programme uses experienced Advisers and Facilitators, drawn from industry, to ensure businesses get the advice and support needed to improve their competiveness, productivity and to seek growth opportunities.  Practical support will be provided to businesses, researchers and entrepreneurs.
 
Revised guidelines issued for First Start funding for traineeships
First Start funding (part of the Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) initiative) will provide local community organisations with a significant subsidy to employ local jobseekers. Funding of $20,000 per trainee is available for not-for-profit community organisations under First Start, with funding specifically targeted at new employees.

What is Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay?

Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay (RDAMB) is part of a national network of organisations, which in Queensland is funded through the Australian Government to promote the economic development of the Moreton Bay region.

The role of RDAMB is to:

  • Develop and implement a Regional Plan
  • Provide advice on critical issues affecting the region
  • Identify and implement initiatives to tackle the region's economic development priorities
  • Generate project proposals for the National Stronger Regions Fund
  • Promote Australian Government Programs.
