Welcome to the Ideas Boom
Extraordinary technological change is transforming how we live, work, communicate and pursue good ideas. We need to embrace new ideas in innovation and science, and harness new sources of growth to deliver the next age of economic prosperity in Australia. The National Innovation and Science Agenda is an important step in the right direction.

Innovation is important to every sector of the economy – from ICT to healthcare, education to agriculture, and defence to transport.

It is about tech entrepreneurs working on the latest product but, equally, about farmers using sensor technology to improve yields, or a business bringing new products to market.

Innovation keeps us competitive. It keeps us at the cutting edge. It creates jobs. And it will keep our standard of living high.

Australia is well-placed to take advantage of the opportunities presented by these exciting times. But to succeed, there are areas where we need to improve.

Get involved in the Construction Waste Challenge
This century has seen the construction industry initiate and develop substantial innovative practices to promote safe and responsible waste management as essential aspects of sustainable building.  Let's take it to the next level with the Construction Waste Challenge!

The Northern Corridor, Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay region are experiencing significant growth.  Constructing houses, buildings and major infrastructure (rail links, roads, bridges, etc.) to accommodate this expansion has the potential to produce unwanted waste material - directly and incidentally.

What are your ideas for sorting, collecting and re-using unwanted construction waste cost-effectively?

How can Mindfulness-Based Stillness Meditation help you?
The truth is we live in challenging times. We often find ourselves getting caught up with worry and fears about our own welling, relationship and day-to-day life issues. Some have the extra challenge of illness to deal with either mentally, emotionally or physically.

Uncertainties can be fueled by stress that manifests anxiety and fear, even depression. The causes can also be from a global level through to our own physical environment. We need to develop the skills to cope with the thoughts and fears that invade our mind. This is where mindfulness meditation is beneficial.
