Pick yourself a sweet job this strawberry season
Does picking strawberries in one of Australia’s most beautiful regions sound like a sweet job?

Did you know that Strawberry Growers across the Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast region employ an estimated 6,000 people at peak times in a season that stretches from May to November each year?

Regional Development Australia (RDA) Moreton Bay has partnered with Moreton Bay Regional Council, Sunshine Coast Council, Growcom, the Queensland Strawberry Growers Association and the Food and Agribusiness Network to deliver The Sweetest Job campaign.

Results of the Moreton Bay Region's Business Confidence Survey
During 2015, supported by RDA Moreton Bay, Moreton Bay Regional Council initiated a Business Confidence Survey with over 1300 respondents.  The link below provides a summary of that survey.

Regional growth and development is vital to support local business success, population growth and lifestyle opportunities as well as leveraging future investment and innovation.

Last year the Moreton Bay Region economy was named the strongest in the state. Moreton Bay Regional Council along with our partner organisations, Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) and Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay (RDAMB) aim to continue this success and support regional development through the dissemination of economic information and the implementation of local area initiatives.

Net Health Data win CeBIT Pitch Fest 2016
Moreton Bay Region based Net Health Data won the CeBIT Pitch Fest held earlier this month in Sydney. 

Net-Health Data is the software platform to enable users to take control of their health and well-being. 

The platform can help users with chronic conditions manage their condition. Net-Health Data aggregates the clinically important information taken from various wireless and point of care devices from patients and sends it to their doctor in real time.

How digital ready are businesses in Queensland?

Since first launching the Digital Readiness Study in 2013 more than 2,500 businesses from across the state have had a say on the digital and technological issues that matter to them.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ) 2016 Digital Readiness Study is the fourth annual survey of how ready businesses across our state are when it comes to incorporating technology as a core advantage.

What is Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay?

Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay (RDAMB) is part of a national network of organisations, which in Queensland is funded through the Australian Government to promote the economic development of the Moreton Bay region.

The role of RDAMB is to:

  • Develop and implement a Regional Plan
  • Provide advice on critical issues affecting the region
  • Identify and implement initiatives to tackle the region's economic development priorities
  • Generate project proposals for the National Stronger Regions Fund
  • Promote Australian Government Programs.
