Dear staff, families, friends, and supporters,

St. Anthony School has been preparing for Thanksgiving and the quickly-approaching Advent season. Driven by our Call to Community, we have launched service-based programs including campus food drives, a Winter Wear Drive, and Advent Angels, our annual initiative to provide each elementary school child with a wrapped gift to celebrate the birth of Our Lord.

Please consider supporting these programs by purchasing from our Amazon Wishlist or donating on our website. We are also happy to arrange in-person donations of new items.

Please send packages to our school administrative office (1727 S. 9th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53204) for distribution to students.
Last month, parents and staff joined us at St. Anthony High School for the Archdiocese’s Tenth-Annual Catholic Schools Walk. Over 100 St. Anthony School community members joined us to celebrate Catholic schools, build community, and raise funds for classroom supplies.
Our campuses celebrated Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a Mexican holiday of prayer and remembrance.

Dia de Los Muertos is traditionally celebrated over two days:
  • On November 1 (All Saints’ Day), we honor the lives of Catholic Saints.
  • On November 2, we celebrate the lives of our loved ones who have passed.
St. Anthony School is partnering with Viterbo University to offer Associate’s Degrees to students and staff. High school students participating in this program will graduate in 2024 with their high school diploma, Associate’s Degree, and the ability to enroll in a four-year teaching program with two years of college credit. We are incredibly proud to provide this opportunity!
We recently had our middle and high school parent-teacher conferences in conjunction with a College Fair and FAFSA Night. Teachers used student data to inform parents about their children's progress in school. Our elementary campuses will host conferences later this month.
St. Anthony Preschool celebrated fall with a Harvest Festival! Students participated in pumpkin bowling, decorated Jack-O-Lantern cookies, and went Trick-or-Treating!
Lower Elementary students have been working daily in their math and reading centers to increase their learning! They enjoy working in the computer center and with hands-on manipulatives and games. Grades K5-2nd started their first round of MAP testing to help our teachers provide support tailored to each child.
The Upper Elementary School Campus wrapped up Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations with a family craft event, making little pinatas. We also celebrated our ancestors and deceased loved ones on our Ofrenda. Our scholars have worked hard the past few weeks on the first round of interim assessments to show what they have learned this school year.
Last month, our middle schoolers completed their first round of network interim assessments. We are proud to share that our sixth and eighth grade students are already off to a great start, exceeding their math proficiency goals! We also hosted our families for the first round of parent-teacher conferences and will meet again in the spring. Remember, we do it for the name on our shirts!
We are excited to announce that 20 of our students were included in Alverno College’s Top 50 College Acceptances! Representatives from Alverno visited the high school to personally deliver students’ acceptance letters.

Mayor Cavalier Johnson has proclaimed Friday, November 18, 2022 as St. Anthony Parish and School Day in the City of Milwaukee! This day celebrates our 150th Anniversary and the rich history of our school and parish.

We are pleased to share that St. Anthony School was featured in an article about School Choice published nationally by AP News. Highlighting the importance of accessibility to private, faith-based schools for working-class families, the article offers perspective into how Choice programming shapes our community.
