Dear staff, families, friends, and supporters,

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful autumn season. Whether it be taking a walk, enjoying the vibrant fall foliage or visiting a pumpkin patch with your family, fall is the perfect time to be outdoors. Here at St. Anthony School, we have been busy celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and our 150th Anniversary with a celebratory Mass and Gala.

The 150th anniversary Mass was a beautiful celebration for our school and parish.  We were fortunate to have the Florentine Opera and the Milwaukee Children’s Choir perform.
Our gala, which followed the Anniversary Mass, was also a great success, raising over $80,000! We transformed our high school gymnasium into a beautiful event space, gleaming in our school colors of blue and gold.
Our emcee, WISN anchorman Gerron Jordan, engaged the crowd as students entertained our guests with cultural dancing and drumming.

We embraced the culture of many of our students during Hispanic Heritage Month with celebrations and events at all our campuses.  Members of our school community participated in cultural dress days and learned about Hispanic traditions. TMJ4 and Telemundo news also visited us during our door decorating contest to interview staff and students.

As the winter nears, it is critical that each child has the appropriate clothing to stay warm outside. St. Anthony School provides students with coats, hats, and gloves as needed through donations. Please consider supporting this initiative by purchasing from our Amazon Wishlist or donating on our website. We are also happy to arrange in-person donations of new items.

The preschool children are starting the season of fall learning about apples! The children enjoy connecting apples to literacy, math, and fine motor learning opportunities. They even tasted different colored apples and graphed which one they liked the best!
We are thrilled to announce that St. Anthony Preschool and Daycare has been awarded National Accreditation by meeting the highest possible early childhood education standards beyond state regulatory requirements. Call (414) 212-8199  to learn more about enrolling children ages 2-4 in our nationally-recognized program.
The Lower Elementary campus celebrated Cultural Day in honor of Hispanic Heritage month and participated in the Hispanic Heritage Month Art Contest hosted by School Choice Wisconsin. This year’s theme is “United with the Hispanic Community.”
Students also participated in a fire safety program to equip them with the skills and knowledge to stay safe.
The scholars and staff at St. Anthony Upper Elementary Campus also enjoyed celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a Cultural Dress Day. It was beautiful to see our students’ pride in their family heritage.
It’s been another successful month at St. Anthony Middle School. Three things that stood out this past month were:
  • Cultural Dress Day,
  • Art projects with Ms. Gonzalez, and
  • Our teacher's dedication to their students.
Students and staff are preparing for our first round of assessments this month and look forward to analyzing our data. “We do it for the name on our shirt! St. Anthony!”
High School English teacher and coach Mr. Brandon Noble received a “Living Our Witness” mini-feature last week in the Catholic Herald!  We are blessed by his dedication to the Catholic faith and our students.

Our high school staff recognized Hispanic Heritage Month in various ways:
  • Dr. Mendoza’s Advisory class chose to use the flags of countries to represent Hispanic Heritage around the World.
  • Ms. Baker created a display of Hispanic musicians from around the World. She highlighted Hispanic scientists in her classes.
  • Ms. Sommer-Bayer’s class created Dia De Los Muertos masks using paper mache and paint to create unique designs.
To celebrate the Feast Day of St. Francis, seniors in the Franciscan Tradition course worked with our sister, Mother Earth, to help her produce fresh, healthy food to be distributed to the poor, hungry, and needy through the Kinship Community Food Center located at St. Casimir Church in the Riverwest neighborhood.
Our students weeded, raked, harvested, composted, and washed freshly picked produce. They harvested 38.5 pounds of cucumbers, 20 pounds of swiss chard, 5 pounds of carrots, 6 pounds of leeks, 6.5 pounds of bell peppers, and 103 pounds of squash.

St. Anthony School will be celebrating the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s 10th Annual Catholic Schools Walk with an event at our middle and high school campus on Sunday, October 16, 2022.

Interested families may contact our admissions office at (414) 837-3300 to enroll or schedule a tour! The current Parental Choice enrollment window for the 2022-2023 school year is October 1-20.
