MEMORY VERSE FOR MAY 2023

No one comes to the Father except through me.'"

John 14:6
Thanks to the Congregation for your recent donations to the NALC Disaster Relief Fund. In total, at the Convocation on 6 May, we were able to deliver:
  • 20 Health Care Kits
  • 15 Bibles / devotionals
  • 6 Personal Hygiene Items
  • 6 Kitchen Kits
  • 5 Blankets
  • 4 Elementary School Kits
  • 3 Flood Buckets
  • $50 Lowe’s Gift Card
In addition, we were able to give Mary Bates a check for $1,805. That’s $1,305 of your dollars, plus a $500 Thrivent Choice Dollars match.  Special thanks to the entire congregation for your support, and especially to Bob Lillie, the Thrivent Advocates, and the Church Council for making the $500 match a reality in such a short time.
We will always accept any Disaster Relief donations – we don’t have to wait for a disaster to happen to be ready to send supplies to those in need.  Contact Tim Schubach if you have any questions.
The Disaster Kit list and container will still be in the hallway for your future donations.

Prayers of the Church
Sixth Sunday of Easter

14 May 2023

Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus and for all people according to their needs.

You abide with Your Church, O God. As You nourish and sustain all living things, by Your Word and Sacrament nourish and sustain the whole body of Christ. Empower us with Your Spirit, so that Your people speak and live the love revealed and given to us in Jesus. Let us pray to the Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

You abide with families, O God. We thank You for mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and all women who play important roles in the lives of young people, preparing them for life as adults and pointing them to Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Let us pray to the Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

You abide with the nations, O God. Reveal Your truth, so that nations and peoples govern in peace and advocate for justice. Guide and direct leaders of nations that they may govern faithfully and with justice. We ask for peace in places where violence and oppression are a daily reality. We pray especially for an end to the Putin invasion of Ukraine and for peace in Sudan and Haiti. We especially lift up to You our partners at SMI Haiti as they bring Christ’s Gospel and Your help to the people of Haiti. Let us pray to the Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

You abide with the grieving, Lord. You know what it is to grieve and You know what it is to die. We pray Your comfort, encouragement, and peace and Martha and Jeff Bastian and their extended family as they mourn the passing of Martha’s father, Robert Winslow. Grant them the strength and hope that belongs to all who trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Let us pray to the Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

You abide with the needy, O God. Cheer the sorrowful, protect the orphan, support the grieving, and heal the sick. We pray particularly for Maryann Hull, Jennifer Fuller, Mel, Emily Gleason, Jenny Schultz, Lou Gabbard, Sheila Stutrud, Luke High, Nancy Buffenbarger, Harriet Tucker, Brady Willman, Lynne Collins, Cliff, Barbara Benkner, Marge Lingo, Klara Vajna, Georgeann Smith, Connie Compton, Ron Meyer, Steve Rabolt, Jennifer Dowell, Ryan Ramsey, Tim Tehan, Bob Hoff, “Bill”, Pastor Phil Gagnon, Phyllis Potts, John and Maryanne Thulin, Vicky Peters, Georgia Bennington, Ellen Prasse, Ava Connerty, Aaron, Joshua, Pastor Chuck and Clara Beckett, Alicia, Shirley Parsons, Linda Spangler, Gladys Fuller, Eric Walker, Bob Atkins, Jim Conerty, and Pastor Jody Becker. Let us pray to the Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

Into Your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in Your mercy through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Call Committee update…..

It has been awhile since we have given you an update in the Wave, and we find it to be an appropriate time to do so now!
Through much time and diligent effort, we would like to inform the congregation that the Congregational Profile and Video have been viewed by the Council and submitted to the NALC for final approval.

We would like to thank the congregation for the successful Congregational Workshop in Feb which helped make our job easier in filling out the profile, and also taking the time to answer the additional questions that we presented afterwards.
The team would also like to extend our gratitude to several additional people who we asked to come along beside us for their expertise in their areas of the Profile - Mark Brennan for the Worship Report, Trish Vulgamore for the Christian Education Report,  Kristin Willman for the Financial Report, and John Sillaman for the video.
We now believe we all need to patiently and prayerfully wait for the Holy Spirit to guide and direct our new pastor to view our Profile and be guided to us.

Serving Him,
The Call Committee Team
