Pedestrian Crosswalk Mural Installation
December 6th

PB Middle School recently held the 2nd Mural Design Contest and the winning design will be installed at the southern campus intersection, at Felspar and Haines, on Saturday, December 6th.  Please join our community for this next mural installation.  Volunteer Sign up HERE!

beautifulPB is currently seeking funding for our beautifulArt Mural program to continue strengthening our community and promote non-vehicular mobility safety in Pacific Beach and other local communities.

PB Pathways soon to be on the ground!
Our neighborhood safe route markings for walking, biking, and skating will begin being installed soon.  District 2 Council member Ed Harris has committed funding for sharrows, pavement way-finding markers, and signage for phase one routes.  These routes will connect our street murals at local Pacific Beach schools to other community destinations.  Visit beautifulPB website to learn more: PB Pathways
City of San Diego Climate Action Plan (CAP) & Pacific Beach EcoDistrict
Mayor Kevin Faulconer recently released the City of San Diego Climate Action PlanbeautifulPB President,  Kristen Victor, continues to contribute to the CAP draft plan as a member of the Climate Action Task Force, representing District 2. Bicycling and walking are strategies to reduce Green House Gases and the Pacific Beach EcoDistrict is tasked in the CAP as a community leader within the City of San Diego.

Pacific Beach Mobility Study (previously referred to as  PB Parks Project)
The PB Parks Project is the origination of the Pacific Beach EcoDistrict and, together with the City of San Diego, we recently submitted  a planning grant to assure a more sustainable future for our initial project.  The planning grant is the Caltrans Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant with funding opportunities up to $500,000 with an additional $57,000 in City of San Diego Matching Funds.  Click here for for additional information on the PB Mobility Study
 
Attention Pacific Beach Urban Planners and Developers:  Sustainable Design Self-Assessment Tool
The PB Planning Group (PBPG) recently implemented the Project Design Self-Assessment Tool  for reviewing all future Pacific Beach development projects by the PBPG Residential / Commercial / Mixed Use Subcommittee.  The rubric was originally developed by the AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) and adapted by our PBPG as part of their commitment to the PB EcoDistrict.

beautifulPB is planning a strong show of support with Walkers, Bikers, and Skaters to demonstrate our emphasis on multi-modal transportation within our community.  Wear your beautifulPB t-shirt (available for purchase) or a GREEN shirt and bring your favorite scooter, bike, skateboard, or shoes.   Join the beautifulPB parade fun at PB Middle School parking lot at 1pm.
