Jeremy and I at a "green energy" event on 4/20.
The new hens--our cherished composters--started laying just in time for Easter!
Namaste, Friends!

Springtime in Las Vegas is over so quickly! The grape vines have already created a canopy in the garden and clusters of blossoms drop pollen on my head as I walk down the paths. Springtime veggies are all going to seed and the air is full of bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. The hens we have been caring for since before Thanksgiving began to lay eggs just in time for Easter, and the blueberries and apricots are ripening to shades of purple and gold. Each day is something to cherish--here for a moment, and then gone!

Spring is giving way to a busy summer schedule for Jeremy and I here at Desert Yoga School. Read on for details about exciting opportunities that might be right for you!

Hoping to see you soon...maybe on a yoga mat?

The Spring semester at UNLV is winding down and I am amazed by the progress students have made in my introductory yoga course. Good students help teachers to improve and I am grateful for the push that these incredible young scholars have given me! I'm excited to teach a condensed version of the course during the University's Summer 2 session, which runs from mid-June to mid-July. I'm also teaching three sections again in the fall! All details are on the UNLV website. Healthy body, healthy mind!

Jeremy and I are happy to offer our 100-hour "Deepening Your Practice" course again this June. Improve your postures, learn breathing exercises, establish a meditation practice, discover yoga philosophy, participate in fire ceremonies and eat delicious meals made with super-fresh organic produce. What better way to spend weekends in June? Details are on the Desert Yoga School website. Students are finding this course rewarding enough to attend two summers in a row!

Students who attended Desert Yoga School's "Deepening Your Practice" course in 2018 or who attend it in June 2019 are eligible to enroll in our "Basic Yoga Teaching" course which will occur on weekends in July. This program includes asana, pranayama, and mantra practice--in addition to teaching methodology, practice teaching, class observations and assisting. Students who complete both programs have the option to complete additional homework assignments and receive Desert Yoga School's 200-hour Yoga Alliance-registered Yoga Teacher Training Certificate. Details on the Desert Yoga School website.

Desert Yoga School will be providing 30 hours of instruction in pranayama, mantra, and philosophy as part of the YogaWorks 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training that will be led by Jennifer Pierotti later this year. Jeremy and I are honored and excited to participate! Details on the YogaWorks website.

Each week, we gather the garden's bounty and pack produce baskets for Desert Yoga School students who appreciate the opportunity to eat the freshest local organic produce that's available. Cooperate with us on our garden project by making a weekly donation--and enjoy nature's gifts! Email or call (808) 388-9553 for details. This week we've got spinach, beet greens, chard, lettuce, fresh herbs for cooking and dried herbs for well as the tender new grape leaves that are used for dolmas!
