Today's harvest: kohlrabi, broccoli, radishes, turnips, chard, cilantro, arugula!
Namaste, Friends!

It has been a while since I removed myself from the public eye to focus my energy and attention on my personal development, family, and our garden. With each passing year my yoga practices become more firmly established, bringing me greater degrees of insight, contentment, and peace. Our home is filled with warmth and laughter. The edible garden we established in 2011 is now producing vegetables that overflow our table and we share our abundance with neighbors, students and friends. Several dozen maturing fruit trees hint at future sweetness, and the time seems ripe for me to expand my yoga instructional offerings.

On Saturday, March 17, I will be teaching a thoughtfully sequenced, instructional, and FUN Vinyasa class with live acoustic guitar played by friend and yoga practitioner Evan Lamar. My best friend and partner in all things Jeremy Drew will be present to assist. This special event will be held at Blue Sky Yoga from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. The venue is likely to sell out, so I recommend that you arrive early and that you have a back-up plan for the evening, in case our mats overflow the space.

In 2012, I responded to a student's request for teacher training by establishing Desert Yoga School, which provides Yoga Alliance-registered 200- and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings. I have now had the honor of working with a handful of dedicated yoga practitioners who have earned teaching certificates and have continued to develop themselves into talented and compassionate yoga instructors. It is with humility and a desire to share some of what I have learned from over 20 years of yoga practice and more than 10 years of teaching that I am announcing my intention to train a small group of sincere yoga students later this year. I haven't scheduled this 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training yet, and I am really just sending out feelers to see if there is interest in such a program. Training sessions will be conducted on weekends during two non-consecutive months. The first month's work will focus on the participants' personal practices, while the second will shift the focus outward towards sharing yoga with others. Participation in just the first half of the program will be an option for practitioners who want to delve more deeply into yoga but don't necessarily want to teach. If you have an established yoga practice, a burning desire to stoke the fires of personal transformation, and an interest in sharing yoga with others, this might be for you. Something that you might not know about me is that I studied Spanish at Dartmouth and Middlebury Colleges. I've also lived and worked in several Spanish-speaking countries. If you have a Spanish-speaking friend who is interested in yoga, please tell them that they are invited to attend my Thursday Mysore Ashtanga classes, where I am able to provide individualized instruction either in English or en español

My ongoing public Ashtanga offerings at Blue Sky Yoga include Thursday Mysore classes and Friday Led Primary series, both from 3:30-5:30 pm. Check out for class descriptions and more.
