The Challengers finished the European Cup Qualifier at Antwerp in third place after winning a roller coaster game against the Vienna Wanderers in extra innings on Friday night. The C's blew a three-run lead twice, erased a five run deficit and Robert Sedin slugged three homeruns going 5-for-6 with 7 RBI's, as the C's posted a wild 15-14 win.

The Challengers lost Game 3 at the European Cup Qualifier at Antwerp on Thursday against the Swedish Team from Leksand. Despite outhitting their opponent 16-11 the C's ended up at the losing end after leaving 14 runners on base. The Challengers built an early 4-2 lead, but Leksand Baseball turned things around for a 8-5 lead after seven, before putting things out of reach with four more runs in the ninth to eventually win 12-6.

Headcoach Chris Palatinus had to state very familiar problems. The C's batted only 4-for-18 with runners in scoring position, while their only two errors and two passed balls led to seven unearned runs for Leksand.

Robert Sedin led the offense with five hits, while Chico Colindres went 3-for-4 with a solo homerun in the second frame to tie the game at 2-2. Starter Tobias Siegrist gave up eight runs - five of them earned - and nine hits with five walks while striking out five in seven innings of work.

The Challengers celebrated their first win at the European Cup Qualifier at Antwerp on Wednesday against Nada Split from Croatia, as the C's exploded for five homers in a 8-4 win. After beeing shut down by the Brasschaat Braves in the opener on Tuesday, the C's converted their chances from the start. After a single from Tobias Siegrist, Ryan Byrne followed with a two-run shot over the center field wall to take the lead.

Säntis Zeller led off the second frame with another homer, while Eidrys Reyes and Tobias Siegrist delivered back-to-back shots over the right field fence to make it 5-1 to start the third inning.

Pitcher Ryan Byrne highlighted his performance, as he cleared the fences again in the eight. He finished the day going 2-for-4 with two homers and three runs batted in, while allowing seven hits and four runs - two earned - with three walks and nine strikeouts for the win.

The Challengers lost their first game at the European Cup Qualifier at Antwerp on Tuesday night against the local heroes Brasschaat Braves 0-8. The C's found no receipt against Braves starter Brendan Shoemaker, who limited the Swiss to four hits with three walks while striking out ten in a complete game win.

Challengers pitcher Rob Sedin kept the Braves bats under control too to keep the game scoreless through the first three innings. But the Braves broke the tie in the fourth on a RBI-single and a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0. The C's managed to keep the gap close till the eight frame, before the Braves delivered two homers in the top of the ninth to eventually win 8-0.

Sedin, Eidrys Reyes, Chico Colindres and Luis Valdez combined for the four Challengers hits, while Sedin allowed six runs - five earned - and eight hits with five walks and five strikeouts.
