As a missionary family, our spring and summer has been jam packed full of activity.
In April we finished our time as children’s pastors at Radiant Church in Colorado Springs. We were so blessed to celebrate 6 years of ministry with families and ministry leaders that we’ve grown to know and love. The people of Radiant hold a special place in our hearts!
We also had the privilege of ministering at Restoration Church in Colorado Springs - one of the first churches to start supporting us! It was great to connect with Pastor Paul Arogon and Children's Pastor, Corey Pesek.
In May, we moved from Colorado Springs, CO to Springfield, MO where we worked to set-up our ministry base and prepare for a summer of ministry. It was a major transition for the entire family...but God was faithful through it all!
In June we spent a week at Kids Camp for the Rocky Mountain District at Cedaredge in Cedaredge, CO. Pastor Mark Thompson runs a great camp where we saw God’s Spirit move in a special way.
We saw dozens of kids give their lives to Christ at a Kids Crusade at Spring River Assembly of God in Riverton, KS. Plus, it was great to meet and get to know Brad Price who has a passion for reaching the kids of his community - most of the 120+ kids who came where bus kids.
We headed back to Colorado for Week 2 of Kids Camp for the Rocky Mountain District at Camp Goldenbell in Divide, CO. Pastor Leonard Mares and his team were excellent hosts.
It was so much fun to connect with friends and see some kids from Radiant Church.
The presence of God was very evident during our worship altar times.
For July we kicked off a 5 week tour by heading out to the Oregon District for East Oregon Kids Camp in La Grande, OR where we not only got to make new friends with Brian Eno and Brad Shimomura - but, we got to connect with Owen Frost and his family (Owen is my former youth pastor when I was a teen and pastors an amazing church: Stateline Community Church in Milton-Freewaser, OR)
God was so gracious as He spoke to kids and we saw a breakthrough in many lives.
In the first few days of August, we headed out across the western states and made our way to Minnesota and ministered at Summit Church in St. Paul. A special thanks to Joe and Jen Anderson who are continuing to pastor a great church with a great history of supporting missionaries all over the world - we count it an honor to be part of that distinguished group!
We spent 2 weeks at Spencer Lake Camp in Waupaca, WI for the Wisconsin District Kids Camp. Pastor Mark Kilcoyn has an amazing team who loves kids and wants to make Kids Camp the most unforgettable week of a kid’s life.
Over the 2 weeks, we saw over 800 kids engage in times of worship and connect with God in powerful ways during prayer times.
It was great to connect with a friend and former co-staff members, Tom and Elise Orlando. Pastor Tommy pastors a unique church called Mercy Hill Church in Milwaukee, WI. They are reaching people in the older neighborhoods in the city. We had an opportunity to share our vision with the church and minister to the kids in Kids Church.
We were honored to go back to the Christian School where Jennifer attended elementary and Jr High school, Faith Christian School, where we gave a special presentation for a back to school event. We shared our vision for missions and our family pulled-out all the stops for a fun and meaningful experience for the families.
After a long and rewarding summer of ministry - we turn our eyes and hearts to international ministry efforts.
We have already begun the redevelopment of a Television Show that Jay Risner started producing many years ago called, “Rainbow Surprise†that’s been seen in millions of homes in other countries. The format is being tweaked and new episodes are being written. The show has the potential to be in markets all over the world.
JoyLand is a special place where KidLink International is working to provide special needs kids with a way to get clean water. Currently, the children of JoyLand have to walk 3-4 a day to buy clean water. Jamie visited JoyLand in 2014 and the children captured his heart.
First International Trip as a Full-Time Missionary
The first international trip coming up is Jamie’s trip to Kenya, Africa where Jamie will be ministering to children at churches and school assemblies. He will also conduct numerous training events for children’s leaders in 7 different locations! The Children's Leaders of East Africa need all the training a resourcing possible - We get to be part of it.
There is no way to make all of this happen ourselves - we need God! We rely on Him daily. Your prayers are needed and appreicated.
Finances - First of all: A BIG THANKS to all those who are giving - your generosity has helped us get on the field. As you can imagine, it takes money to travel and help churches around the world. At the same time, we still need to pay our bills at home and put gas in the van and groceries on the table.
Health - Pray for good health for our entire family.
Protection - We need protection while on the road or in the air.
Equipment - we need several headset-style microphones that will accommodate our ministry presentation style. We are also needing to acquire an iPad to use during our ministry presentations and to get work done when we are traveling on the field.
Transition - our kids need to make new friends in our new location. It can be tough when we are coming and going.
We know that God is good. We are trusting Him for each of the items listed. Join us in prayer as we move forward.
You Can Still Make a Difference!
You can still partner with us...
We literally celebrate as a family when we see a new name on our financial reports.
Please don't assume that because we are out doing ministry that we don't need your support. We always need new partners.
There are always new projects and ministry that are in the works - your financial commitments help us travel here in the U.S. and around the World. They help us provide needed supplies and equipment for churches in under-resourced places.
If you've considered making a monthly commitment, NOW is the time!
