I've been home from my grand Nashville adventure for nearly a month now, and it feels like I had about 30 seconds to breathe and regroup before picking up moving on to the next thing.
I spent last weekend in Tucson, AZ for the Stefan George Memorial Songwriting Competition where I brought home 3rd place! It was such a gift to play for real life human beings in a safe, loving, listening room-style space. I got to meet some awesome musicians, music lovers, and event organizers. I'll be back in Tucson on April 11th for the Tucson Folk Festival, another great event!
Y'all are probably wondering what's up with that album thing I was working on... let me bring you up to speed. The album is still under construction. Mary is adding background vocals and there are 2 more parts being recorded: keyboard and fiddle. Once all those parts are added it will be sent off for mixing. I should receive mixed and mastered tracks by mid to late April.
That doesn't mean I'm over here twiddling my thumbs waiting for the record to be done. I'm currently researching publicists to hire for the album rollout this summer. I'm coming up with a timeline for album release. I'm making a list of assets I need to gather and create, like album art, publicity photos, liner notes, music videos, etc. I'm meeting with an artist to create merch for my Kickstarter Backers and come up with a plan for fulfilling rewards.
Oh... and writing songs! I finished a new song on Wednesday and just started working on another song with two co-writers from Texas. And I'm working part-time, booking two house concert series, doing yoga every day, and being a dog-mom. Like I said... never a dull moment around here! What are you up to? How are you spending your spring days? I would love to hear from you.
Lots of love,

With special guest Emily Hicks
I met Emily when I booked her to play at Melvin's Public House, where I manage the music schedule. She's a songwriter, a music teacher, and a fellow Indigo Girls fan.
Patty is famous! If you're in the Wasatch Back, pick up a copy of the spring edition of Heber Valley Life Magazine to catch Patty's debut and a nice article about my forthcoming album written and photographed by the lovely Noni Henderson.
