My second single is here! I started this journey with a plan to release a song every 30 days (or so). The last month has flown by and here we are, at my second single release.
If you have been following me for a while, you may have heard this song before. I wrote "Pretend" several years ago - it was one of the first original songs I wrote and played with Bonanza Town, the cover band I fronted for about 8-ish years. The lyrics and melody came to me when I was in the shower one day. I remember running out of the bathroom and furiously writing lyrics down, wrapped up in a towel, hair dripping.
I released the song with Bonanza Town in 2014 on a 5-song EP. With this new project, my bandmates and I felt it was time to give "Pretend" a fresh new sound. I love how it came together with added layers of organ, percussion, some new harmony vocals, and a cool new groove.
If this song is new to you, I hope you like it! If you've heard it before either live, or on the 2014 release, I hope this new version gets your toes tapping.
The next release is scheduled for Dec. 21. Now that I'm starting to get the hang of this whole process, it gets more and more fun every day. I love sharing this music with you. Thank you for supporting me on this wild ride.
