Exciting AIMC News 2015
Dear members and AIMC friends,
This March newsletter is rather special: it contains information about two of the most important activities of AIMC.
First, the internationally-known RavennaMosaico festival contest, organized by AIMC and the Municipality of Ravenna. The festival will take place from October 10 to November 8, 2015. Closing date for contest entries: May 15, 2015. The contest consists of two sections:
-
The mosaic work section Opere dal mondo-Works from the World for actual mosaic works, and
-
The photographic section Architettura e Mosaico –Architecture and Mosaic, with photos of mosaic projects.

Second, we announce a new initiative for young students, the competition PREMIO AIMC STUDENTI (PAS) AIMC PRIZE FOR STUDENTS, conducted in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Ravenna. We invite all members and AIMC friends to contribute to this initiative by promoting the announcement of the competition in the various art schools and institutions of their city/town, in order to achieve maximum participation of interested students.

Solo Exhibition of Elaine Goodwin
March 3 - March 24, 2015
From the artist:
This exhibition explores art as an act of love. In the work of the late 19th and early 20th Century, the ʻIntimisteʼ painters - Pierre Bonnard and Edouard Vuillard - used a broken-colour technique to capture the light and atmosphere of an intimate and fleeting moment. In this exhibition of new work - intimacy is explored in broken and low tones using the light=emitting materials of Ravenna glass and Venetian golds. The works are like confidences shared.

the IX INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION - Biennale - "MOSAIC TODAY" open
to all artists who express themselves through mosaic, university students
of Architecture and Environmental Design, of landscape and interior
spaces who have carried out an exam in Contemporary Art History with
a reference to contemporary mosaic and have done or intend to carry
out a thesis on this form of artistic expression
