International Festival of Contemporary Mosaic

Ravenna promotes the third edition of the international festival of contemporary mosaic RavennaMosaico due on 2013 from 12th October to 23th November. RavennaMosaico presents itself as a showcase of the best contemporary productions and offers thoughts on the vocation of the city, in the light of the candidature of Ravenna as European Capital of Culture for 2019. The event will involve the entire city and cultural institutions in a program dedicated to the contemporary mosaic, proposing in the most beautiful places of the historical center, exhibitions of artists from around the world, urban installations, performances, concerts, conferences, workshops, meetings, and guided tours

12th international AIMC congress in Athens 2010
Speakers’ minutes and visual material in a 3 dvd case

The minutes of the Athens 2010 AIMC congress have been published in dvd form to be watched from your tv screen or a dvd playing computer. 53 speakers, more  than 12 hours to watch. The 3 days long congress, as it was held in the amphitheatre of Theocharakis Foundation in Athens is included in two dvds. The third dvd consists of the visual material (videos, ppt, photos) which was presented by the speakers during the congress. Cost 30 euros plus postage. For the congress speakers, cost 15 euros plus postage.

International Contemporary Mosaic Art Exibition 

©WA Worldartist Art Culture and People, Perseo Jewelry School Firenze, AGT and AIMC are pleased to invite the members of the association and not only,   to propose their own works for exhibitions that illustrate the relationship between the mosaic and the city, under the theme "Mosaic Reflections " and to participate in the finalists’ exhibition at the Palazzo Medici-Riccardi, where the  Award ©MUSIWArt will be granted.

The event will involve 1) exhibition spaces of the Metropolitan Area of Florence in a path dedicated to the contemporaneity of the  mosaic art and 2) the finalists’  exhibition, the ”Premio Internazionale ©MUSIWArt”, which will take place at the Galleria of the  Palazzo Medici-Riccardi, Florence.

We, therefore, invite you to fill out a request for participation and send it together with a brief description of your  activity, until March 30th, 2013.  

Artists from all over the world may participate with a maximum number of three artworks.

Contemporary Vision of Alexandrian Mosaic
Collective exhibtion 

Opining Exhibition will be on 9th of Feb. 2013 at 6:00pm, At the Exhibition hall at the faculty of fine Arts, Alexandria “the main building”. The artists who are going to be involved at the exhibition are AIMC members in Alexandria. This exhibition will give an idea to the students about what the academic staff is doing and might open a new vision to them. The exhibition will display all the real mosaic work of the posters that were at the conference in Cyprus.

"Art of Mosaics" Competition
Museo del Fiume - Nazzano

The Museo del Fiume of Nazzano, Ti Con Zero Association, Social Cooperative ‘Le Mille e Una Notte’ with the patronage of the Municipality of Nazzano and the Regional Nature Reserve Tevere Farfa are organising the 34th Mosaic Competition to be held 25th and 26th May 2013. The aim of the Competition is to respond to the need to offer new stimuli to artistic artisanship in mosaic making.

Prize “Mosaic and Architecture 2013” 
Tendenza Mosaico

We are pleased to announce you that the notice of the fourth International prize for “Mosaic and Architecture” has been published.
The following prices will be awarded:

- Prize “Mosaic and Architecture 2013” € 2.000,00
- Prize “Mosaic and Architecture 2013” for religious architecture € 500,00
- Prize “Mosaic and Architecture 2013” for the planning of private homes € 500,00        

The deadline to send the required documents is January, the 31st 2013. 
The results of the Competition will be published on the web site of Happy Business To You within February, the 10th 2013 , and the prizes will be assigned on February the 16th 2013 at 11 am at the Auditorium of the Fiera di Pordenone as part of “Tendenza Mosaico”, side event of Happy Business To You, the trade show dedicated to Contract 100% Made in Italy. The projects considered worthy will be displayed in the pavilions of the Fair from February 13th to February 16th 2013.

Mosaic Arts International Exhibition
Museum of Glass - Tacoma - WA

The Society of American Mosaic Artists’ (SAMA) annual juried member’s exhibition,Mosaic Arts International, is being held at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington, January 26-May 5, 2013.  The exhibit features the carefully selected work of 46 artists from seven countries and significantly is the first exhibition devoted to mosaic art ever curated by the Museum of Glass.  The museum is noted for its distinctive architecture, and collection of 20th and 21st century glass art along with changing exhibitions.
In addition to the juried works, the exhibit will include  the work of Japan’s premier mosaic artist, Toyoharu Kii, who is also the keynote speaker at the annual SAMA Conference
 in Tacoma, April 10-13, 2013.

Mosaic dedicated to Giovanni Palatucci
Walter Ferrarini realized the commemorative mosaic

Opening: 15th december 2012 at Reggio Emilia - Cappella della Polizia di Stato.
The mosaicist Walter Ferrarini realized a commemorative mosaic for celebrating the memory of Giovanni Palatucci, Italian policeman who saved the life of thousands of Hebrews from deportation during the second world war. Deported him self for this, he died in Dachau on february 1945.
