FCC considers $100 million for rural telehealth program. The Federal Communications Commission will vote July 10 on the Connected Care pilot program, which would provide $100 million to develop new telehealth programs for rural and underserved areas as well as veterans. READ MORE 
One Affordable Care Act insurer in Kentucky wants a 12% rate hike next year; the other one has asked for a decrease of 4.5%. One of the two insurers offering government-subsidized individual health plans in Kentucky for 2020 is asking for a 12 percent increase, while the other is asking for a 4.5% decrease. An Update on Health Center Funding Reauthorization. The busy year for health center funding activity in Congress continues. The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee has passed a bipartisan measure that aims to curb high costs and unexpected bills for patients, and includes a five-year funding reauthorization for America’s Health Centers READ MORE
Medicaid Telehealth Claim Update. The Telehealth regulation expanding service locations and allowable providers becomes effective.  By now you should have received a provider letter from Kentucky Medicaid that outlines the use of two-letter modifiers which would capture the location of both the telehealth provider of service and the location of the recipient. National foundation study estimates Medicaid work rules would lead to 86,000 to 136,000 in Ky. losing coverage the first year. If Kentucky and eight other states persuade federal courts to let them add work requirements to their Medicaid programs, Kentucky would lose more people from its Medicaid rolls than any of the states but Michigan. Notice of Class Deviation From Competition Requirements for National Organizations for State and Local Officials Program. In FY 2019, HRSA received funding from the Minority HIV/AIDS Fund from the Office of Secretary. The purpose of the Minority HIV/AIDS Fund is to reduce new HIV infections, improve HIV-related health outcomes. READ MORE
