★ TUMULTUOUS 2018 ☆

This was a tough year dominated by devastating climate breakdown and cripplingly stupid politics. We feel fortunate to be a part of a growing community that is constantly and surprisingly creative, humane, and fights for a better world.

This summer, we said good bye to our favorite agitator, provocateur, champion of racial justice, and friend, Jean Toche. May you not rest in peace, but cause trouble wherever you have gone!

Highlights from the year—the shit that keeps us going!

• Press Press's stunning presence with their Sanctuary work at the NYABF—utterly necessary!
• The Chicago Art Book Fair—well-organized, lively, Chicago-style book throw-down—so satisfying!
• A group dinner at the Yemen Cafe in Hamtramck after a sweet experience at the Detroit Art Book Fair
• All the amazing support we get from Printed Matter, Quimby's Chicago and Quimby's NYC, and the Joan Flasch Artists' Book Collection
• Finally getting to collaborate with PrintRoom, Rotterdam, on a publication and exhibition—thanks, Karin!
• All the book fairs and zine fests we made it to in the Midwest: Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, Madison, and Milwaukee
• The exhibition of our work at multiple venues throughout Australia, all this year and next year in the exhibit Self-Made: Zines and Artist Books
• An interview in the hefty survey Art in Chicago: A History From Fire To Now published by University of Chicago Press
• Temporary Services reunion with Salem Collo-Julin for a broad shoulders stomachs breakfast at Lou Mitchell's in Chicago

This December marks the start of our 20th year of working together. We are just getting started! Look for some new things from us in the coming year and a couple of big reprints.
