Nurses to Honor Co-Workers Who Have Left Allina Health

(St Paul) - October 7, 2016 - Striking Nurses from Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids and Unity Hospital in Fridley will display empty scrub tops to honor those nurses who left Allina Health facilities during the labor dispute.

Since difficult negotiations began with an employer who has tried to eliminate their affordable healthcare plans, refused to listen to nurses' proposals, and called Minnesota nurses overpaid, hundreds of nurses have left their jobs with an Allina Health hospital.  According to the Minnesota Nurses Association, more than 400 nurses have left since February, and half of those since June.

Even if the labor dispute and strike are ended today, those nurses have taken thousands of years of experience from Allina hospitals, which can't be duplicated.
