What is PRP?

After our March newsletter, we received a lot of questions about PRP.  The main question we heard was "What is it?" 

To put it simply, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a patient's own concentrated platelets. PRP contains a large number of growth factors; these growth factors stimulate healing.

Is Joint Pain Keeping You From Exercising Your Green Thumb?

Arthritis shouldn't prevent you from gardening.  Use these tips from OSOC's knee & hip specialist, Dr. Safa Kassab to help you get back to gardening pain free. 

1) Ask for Help.  The first tip is know your limits.  Examine your To-Do list and determine which tasks you can easily do and which tasks you may need assistance with.

2) Be Kind to Your Body. Performing gentle stretches to loosen joints prior to gardening may help prevent injury. Try this simple stretch: With your arms straight out in front of you, reach forward as far as you can. 

3) Use Joint-Friendly Tools: Long-handled tools that allow you to stand, not stoop....
