Mark your calendar for Tuesday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m. as the Iowa Genealogical Society and Iowa PBS come together for a special discussion about genealogy.
This event begins with a short preview of curated clips from episodes of the current season of Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates Jr. Following the clips, three members from the Iowa Genealogical Society (Kevin Spire, Theresa Liewer, and Tony Cupp) will join the conversation live to discuss how people can begin to access their own genealogy.
Learn about local resources and hear stories from those who have researched their genealogy. Through this online shared media viewing platform, audience members can discuss their ancestry and ask questions during the live discussion. For more information and register for this free virtual event, visit iowapbs.org/events.

- Affiliate libraries have enhanced access on-site to FamilySearch’s digital genealogical collections, providing access to some databases that would otherwise be accessible only through a FamilySearch family history center.
- FamilySearch also provides its affiliates with the latest tools and tips for genealogy reference librarians.
- To access the additional collection you need to be physically at IGS and utilize their computers or login to the FamilySearch website from your personal computer using IGS' Wi-Fi.
