News from the studio

Last month I enjoyed an incredible trip to Australia, teaching for the lovely folk at Fibre Arts Australia. It was great to meet lots of new people and share ideas about textile art practices from around the world. I was also fortunate to see some world class exhibitions in Brisbane and Melbourne, which were truly inspirational. You can see some highlights of my trip on Facebook and Instagram.

Open Studios
Back home in Yorkshire, I have plenty to keep me busy in the studio. I recently started a new body of work and it feels great to be exploring print processes and new ideas in my own practice.

With this in mind I will be having an informal open studio during this year's Saltaire Arts Trail. You won't find me on the official trail guide this year, but you can still visit the studio to see me at work. You will also find Alice Fox in the other top floor studio at the same address. It would be great to see you if you are in the area, and as usual there will be lots to see all around the village throughout the trail.

My studio will be open 2-5pm, 25th, 26th and 27th May.

Find us at: 73 Bingley Road, Saltaire, BD18 4SB. Access to the studios is through 'Too Nice To Use' shop (formerly The Butterfly Rooms), where Simone Crossland sells her colourful paintings. Simone is no. 18 on the Saltaire Arts Trail.
Poetic Cloth: creating meaning in textile art will be published by Batsford on 22nd August 2019.

It is also available to pre-order now.
