“An old fashioned thriller written just for the stage...Simonelli has written an atmospheric piece that delivers plenty of chills with a liberal dose of tension breaking comic relief! A real Halloween treat!”
-- Joe Franklin, Bloomberg Radio
With the start of fall comes the inevitable: pumpkin spice lattes, candy corn, UGG boots, and all things spooky. To kick off the Halloween season, we will be serving up some chills and thrills when we present the regional premiere of Joe Simonelli’s The Ghost in the Meadow from October 5th through 9th.
Like many favorite ghost stories, the setting of the play is an old, abandoned house (designed by Dan Daly). Sisters Sheila and Kylie relocate to the old farmhouse from Manhattan with the intent to modernize it and call it home. They soon realize that they may not be alone in the house as specters dating as far back as the Civil War begin to appear. Sheila’s ex-boyfriend drops in to visit and, when the strange occurrences continue, he calls on the services of a psychic colleague to try to quell the restless spirits.
The production is directed by Marta Rainer, who last worked with us on the 2015 production of Lost in Yonkers. It features a talented cast of actors including Kevin Killavey (most recently seen in Peter and the Starcatcher and A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Elizabeth Swan who returns following her performance in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. New to the Playhouse are Jeannie McGartland and Dana Block. They are joined by local actor Lynn Dadian who will be making a ghostly appearance.
Tickets range from $16-27 and can be ordered by calling (603) 279-0333 or online at www.winnipesaukeeplayhouse.org.

Meet the Cast
As of the end of the summer season we say "so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, adieu" and "THANK YOU" to our wonderful partners at Magic Food Restaurant Group. Sandy Ouellette of Magic Foods has been greeting our customers at our lobby bar since we opened the new Playhouse in 2013 and we are indebted to her for the countless hours she spent with us. Sandy is ready to enjoy a well-earned retirement and we are in search of a new restaurant partner.
If you know of a restaurant, chef, aspiring chef, foodie, or anyone else who might want to learn more about partnering with us as our in-house food service provider, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
While we search for the perfect partner we will continue to serve snacks, water, and soft drinks from the bar before performances and during intermissions. Please note, as of right now we will be accepting cash only. Thank you for your patience!
Congratulations to the winners of Broadway Idol 2016!
