SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT PARTY
We are kicking off 2013 in real style with a 2013 Professional Season Announcement Party and Fundraiser at O Steaks and Seafood, on Sunday, January 20th, from 1:00 -4:00 p.m!   This is the year professional and community theatre gets taken to a new level in the Lakes Region as we move into our mainstage theatre in Meredith.

Your contribution is more important than ever!! Please be a part of making excellent theater and educational experiences a reality for children and adults in the Lakes Region by attending our event on January 20th!  Bring your friends.  Thanks to the generosity of O Steak and Seafood, 100% of your $50 ticket goes to our Capital Campaign where it will be generously matched by an anonymous donor.  In exchange, you will get  a sneak peek at the SIX shows that will be produced in our inaugural season at the Meredith campus.  Fabulous nibbles, a signature cocktail, live music by Lakes Region minstrel Kyle Nickerson, a competitive game of charades and – yes! – strolling balloon hostesses await you at this fun and important event!

CALLING ALL BUSKERS!
One of the new opportunities our Meredith campus will afford this summer is “Busker Alley” – the opportunity for performance artists of all types to share their talents with our audiences.  Utilizing our beautiful outdoor amphitheatre, we are offering the chance to artists to provide a half hour of pre-show entertainment from 6:45-7:15 in advance of our evening performances at the new Mainstage Theatre!  Each night a different act could be featured and the list of performers and their appearances would be promoted around the theatre, on our website and in our summer program.  Audience members will be encouraged to come early, bring a picnic dinner or buy a boxed dinner from our concession operation, and enjoy the live performances as an appetizer to the main course – our professional production.

Entertainers could put out the proverbial hat for donations, market upcoming performances, sell CDs and merchandise and still move on to an evening gig elsewhere in the Lakes Region!  Performers of all types are encouraged – musicians of all types, jugglers, magicians, singer/songwriters, dancers, improv troupes – basically any person or small group that can provide 30 minutes of quality outdoor entertainment.   Intimate and acoustic acts are preferred – we don’t want performances that will blast the campus or the neighborhood, but some low amplification may be possible.

If interested, performers should contact Executive Director Bryan Halperin at bryan@winniplayhouse.org and send a demo or weblink of what you can do!  Our staff and some trusted local musicians will be vetting your materials to ensure that the quality of the performers will be consistent with all the programs the Playhouse offers.  Scheduling of specific dates will begin in February so get your information to the Playhouse as soon as possible.  Any questions, contact Bryan at the same e-mail address.

Please spread the word!  We have over 60 performances scheduled from June – Labor Day weekend and would love to make you a part of our summer season and have as many nights filled with outstanding Buskers as talent allows!
