2020 Loureiro/Arinto

Both the Loureiro and Arinto are sourced from the Quinta da Cotovia, Quinta de Vila Meã and Quinta de Paços properties, all located in Barcelos. Poignant aromas of Bartlett pear, white gooseberry and laurel excite the olfactory receptors. The palate is crisp and focused with no shortage of bright citrus flavors that are complimented by notes of pear and apple.

2020 Fernão Pires

Another of Portugal’s oldest varieties and by far one of the most cultivated, Fernão Pires is found in virtually all winegrowing regions, particularly in Ribatejo and Bairrada, where it is known by the name Maria Gomes. This wine sports forward aromas of orange tree, lime and citrus fruits. The palate is unique and surprisingly rich with suggestions of apricot, lychee and a hint of spiciness.

Retail: $22.95
2020 Rosé

A delightful Vinho Verde rosé that offers aromas of strawberry and a hint of rose petal. The palate is rife with cranberry, red-currant and mouth watering acidity. Super refreshing, this pairs perfectly with the patio on a warm summer day.

Retail: $22.95
2020 Morgado do Perdigão Alvarinho/Loureiro

The 2020 Morgado do Perdigão is an equal blend of Alvarinho (from the winery's Casa do Capitão-mor) and Loureiro (from Quinta de Paços in Barcelos), dry and coming in with 13.1% alcohol. Showing respectable solidity in the mid-palate for this level, this adds expressive fruit and a textured, fresh finish. It's elegant and bright. Nicely done at a nice price, this should hold a few years, but there is no reason to wait.

Retail: $24.95

2019 Casa do Capitão-Mor Reserva Alvarinho

The 2019 Casa do Capitão - mor Alvarinho is an unoaked Alvarinho that comes in dry and at 13.5% alcohol. About one-third of the juice saw skin maceration. Sturdy and solid in the mid-palate, this also shows off respectable grip on the finish. It finishes dry and seriously. It's not too light or too simple, but it can still be used as a porch-sipping white this summer. That might, in fact, be its highest and best use, as it is a pleasure to just taste the expressive and nuanced fruit as this airs and warms. It's always in perfect balance, and nothing is even a little flamboyant.

2019 Reserva Arinto

Made only in the best years, this Arinto Reserva is a beauty. Partially wood aged, the wine has spice as well as the crisp, tight fruits of Arinto. The bright acidity and green fruits meld well with the toastiness to create a delicious, food friendly wine. This may be pricey for Vinho Verde, but it's a bargain overall.

Retail: $28.95
