2019 Boyer-de Bar Chardonnay "Les Peyrarols"

From the second century BC, the vineyards stretched over this Mediterranean terroir formed of sediments deposited in the Myocene. From the Greeks to the present day, men have tamed this land, beaten by the winds where in the evening, the harsh light is hemmed with a golden veil.

The rich and deep soil gives this family plot, replanted by Emmanuel Lucas de Bar in 2003 of grapes which are aromatic, golden and fragrant. The result is a rich wine, blessed with a nice tension, rare amongst the Chardonnays of the South of France.

The Syrah to the north of the hill of "La Glacière" overlooks the "Fossé des Yeux", work built by the monks in the 13th century to drain the beautiful, generous land that was their richness. Le Cinsault, to the south, overlooks the "Rouviège" stream which collects the waters of the "Fossé des Yeux". The ground there is composed of gravel and has exceptional drainage. The blend of the two grape varieties gives this wine a beautiful pale pink color. Fresh and tasty, it delivers its finesse and a good aromatic complexity. Comprised of 75% Cinsault and 25% Syrah these grapes are born from vineyards in the process of converting to organic viticulture.
