Thursday, May 17th - Support the OFN for #DucksGive!

We at Oregon Folklife Network attribute Oregon’s cultural vitality to a collective heritage as diverse in color as our Painted Hills. As a supporter, you help OFN preserve and celebrate Oregon's traditional arts.

Oregon's traditions range from Coos traditional basket weaving, central Oregon horse training, and Basque sheepherding to Astoria's FisherPoets Gathering, Portland's African American gospel singing and Persian storytelling, Hood River's mariachi bands, and Wasco beadwork. Our oldest and newest Oregonians turn ordinary practices into cultural treasures.

Please support OFN's efforts to continue our dynamic statewide programming. Your gift of any amount enables OFN to Join us for #DucksGive—a campus wide campaign that allows you to target your donation to your favorite cause.  All day on Thursday, May 17th the Oregon Folklife Network will be working hard to earn or renew your support. Your tax-deductible gift to the Oregon Folklife Network Fund results in an Oregon state tax credit when you make a matching donation to the Oregon Cultural Trust; Donate. Match. Get the whole match back.
When you donate during #DucksGive  you'll be joining thousands of other Oregonians in a celebration of University of Oregon programs that make a difference.  We hope you’ll be a part of our efforts to nurture Oregon’s diverse cultural heritage.
Thanks so much for your support!

Folklife Updates in the West

The Oregon Folklife Network is one of many organizations supporting traditional culture in the Pacific Northwest. It was a busy winter for many of OFN's folklife partners in the region. From festivals dedicated to occupational traditions to former OFN staff in new positions and new folk and traditional arts programs, there's plenty of news and events from around the west! If you like what OFN is doing, make sure to check out and follow these other great organizations. We all work to support traditional culture; be on the lookout for upcoming events and projects!
Todd Frusetta Obituary

The OFN was saddened to learn that Todd Frusetta, a saddlemaker and leather carver from Heppner, OR featured on our Culture Keepers Roster, passed away in 2016. You can read his obituary here.
