Kicking Off the New Year

We have a lot going on in 2015! Here are just a few highlights to whet your appetite for the coming months.
  • February brings Eugene's annual Local Food Connection Conference, hosted by LCC on February 2. Besides OFN's involvement in with the conference planning team, a team of our former and current Folklore students have been formulating Fully Fermented, an insider tour of the Whiteaker neighborhood's wineries and breweries. This pilot tour will be first offered to the Local Food Connections conference, a networking event that provides business opportunities for farmers, ranchers, fishermen, and food buyers. Click on the link above for more information.
  • Look for 2015-16 Traditional Artist Apprenticeship Program applications in early February.
  • Oregon Buckaroo traditions will take over the OFN exhibit space in mid-February.
  • The annual FisherPoets Gathering takes place February 27th to March 1st in Astoria.
  • Folklorists Nancy Nusz and Debbie Fant will be visiting Eugene on March 5th to talk about their ongoing fieldwork in the Gorge region  (part of the OFN's Statewide Folklife Survey, funded in part by a Folk & Traditional Arts grant from the National Endowment for the Arts).
