Thank you and good luck to halow Director, Yvonne Reynolds.
Towards the end of last year, Yvonne Reynolds, halow Director, decided  that timing was right to leave halow and move on to an exciting new role as Head of Welfare at ben. Many of you will know Yvonne personally as she has been the driving force behind halow for the last  eight years. The founding families recruited Yvonne to shape their ideas and establish a young, vibrant organisation in Guildford providing opportunities for young people that at the time were few and far between. Over Yvonne’s  six years of leadership  halow has developed into a team that has become a leading light in the sector, supporting over 170 young people across Surrey, through our six key services. Yvonne's drive and passion laid the foundation for halow’s future and we are proud to have had her at the helm during such important formative years. So it with huge thanks we say goodbye, good luck and we thank for her hard work for halow, our young people and families.
All halow services are being overseen by Lucy Chaudhuri and Ann Kenney in the interim.
Congratulations to the Building Futures Group who have finished their first term, well done for all your hard work volunteering at The Lighthouse and Watts Gallery. Other highlights of the term include a festive trip to Winter Wonderland and a visit from Mencap explaining the importance of our Young People's vote in the general election.
My halow story
It’s tricky to describe a typical day working for halow as every day is different. Some days I
support the young people at college or when they go shopping or help them bake cakes or help clean the house. There’s so much variety to keep me on my toes but it’s really fun. It’s a brilliant job and I love being out and about with the young people. - halow Buddy
A Burns Night dinner dance will kick off an exciting new relationship between The Rotary Club of Guildford Chantries and halow. We’re delighted to announce that the Club has chosen halow as one of its charities of the year for 2015. This will see us benefitting from money raised at a variety of events during the year. Our sincere thanks to the Rotary! Find out more and how you can get tickets here.
