DESOTO County has ordered a mandatory curfew from 9 PM TO 6 AM effective today trough the end of the State of Emergency. The only exceptions are authorized emergency personnel, people actively evacuating, and persons providing emergency protection of their own property. Violators will be guilty of a second degree misdemeanor.

Now is NOT the time to be traveling. The storm threat is imminent and immediate. You need to be sheltered at this point. All persons should immediately shelter and stay sheltered through Monday.

Please be advised hospitals are not shelters. Due to the expected aftermath of Hurricane Irma hospitals must be prepared to take on an influx of those truly in need of emergency care.
