Interested in becoming an OWD Member?

If you are interested in becoming a member of Ocean Wreck Divers, we ask that you attend 3 meetings and have a valid and recognized certifying agency card (PADI, NAUI, or any nationally recognized agency).

At the third meeting, w
e vote you in, if everything is in order. We'll need a copy of your "C" card and have you fill out an application and pay your first year's dues ($35.00, $25.00 annually thereafter).
Annual dues are due November 1st of each year.

Please know, we ask that our members contribute their time to our fundraising events in one way or another.

Attendance at meetings will give you the best opportunities to get on the dive schedule. We have an active dive season planned.

We are looking for people who are sensible, competent and safety minded. We recommend that you carry D.A.N.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month at 8pm.

OWD 27th Annual Scuba Super Flea Market
February 15, 2015 from 9:00AM until 2:00 PM
This year's Flea Market is at:
Toms River Intermediate School South at 1675 Pinewald Road, Beachwood, New Jersey, 08722

 
Join us at the biggest and best scuba flea market in NJ!! Find all the goods sold at a regular dive shop plus many additional items. Some of the booths are run by local dive shops that sell their regular new gear at a discount for this one day. Other tables may be run by specialists who focus on one aspect of diving such as new backpacks for double tanks and other technical diving gear. Some of the booths also sell used gear.
 
Besides a great flea market, this year Ocean Wreck Divers will also have several speakers giving presentations at the market.
 
At 10 AM, Fred Barthes of North East Diving Equipment Group will give a 30 minute presentation on the history of diving- "Diving - from Leonardo DaVinci to Pink Floyd!"
 


At 11 am, Captain Gene Peterson, owner of Atlantic Divers, veteran shipwreck explorer and expedition leader, will give a presentation of shipwrecks discovered and identified from North Carolina to Nova Scotia- "Discoveries and Recoveries"



At 12 Noon, Dan Lieb, the president of New Jersey Historical Divers Association, scuba diver, avocational archaeologist and historian, will give a presentation of shipwreck mapping- "Why Map Shipwrecks"

If you are interested in renting a table to sell diving gear and other related items at the flea market, please call 732-255-9304 to reserve a table now. 
Tables are 8 feet long, although half tables are available. Two (2) Free Admissions per table / One (1) Admission per half table (For Workers Only)
