With just a couple of days remaining before the green flag drops on “The Longest Off-Road Race In The United States”, 349 race teams to date have signed up to participate in this year’s epic running of the General Tire “Vegas to Reno” Presented by FOX.
Time Trials will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, August 16, for the combined group of Trick Trucks and Class 1500 Unlimited Cars to see who will win the "Team Ford" Pole Award and be the first overall starting car or truck.
Best In The Desert has been promoting this spectacular off-road desert race from Southern Nevada to Northern Nevada for 21 years. It is quite a spectacle to experience in person. But if you’re unable to attend the incredible “Vegas to Reno” adventure, you can still keep abreast of the action by checking out Racing TraX’s satellite tracking of the race vehicles from start to finish. You can also be among the first to find out who the winners are as the racers cross the finish line in Dayton, Nevada. SPECIAL NOTICE FOR RACE TEAMS
Construction is taking place on Highway 95 between Pit 7, Millers and Pit 9. Redlich. Pit crews can expect a 30-minute delay, possibly longer due to race traffic. It is a 55 MPH Speed Zone and Esmeralda County Sheriff's office will be out in force on the lookout for speeding violators. A large number of speeding tickets have already been issued to drivers traveling through this section. The Pit 8 layout will be different than in the Pit book. There is a revised version available on the BITD website. There will be no access for trailers or motorhomes. 4 wheel drive vehicles are suggested to get into Pit 8.
