Armenia – Beyond Noah’s Land

Date: 20 July 2014
Venue: The Concourse, Chatswood

ASDC is proud to announce that the Senior Group will be participating in the premier event, ‘Armenia - Beyond Noah’s Land’. The concert is the first of its kind in Sydney, aiming to exhibit the Armenian culture as a whole to prominent Australian Government figures and the wider Australian audience. The concert will celebrate the rich and diverse history and culture of the Armenian people in an unforgettable display of traditional dance, music and literature.

On a number of occasions last year, Government figures and people of different nationalities had the opportunity to watch our senior dancers perform. Due to the great feedback received, ASDC decided that the senior dances would participate in the event and showcase dance as an integral part of Armenian culture.

This is an exciting time for the Australian Armenian community and a new milestone for the ASDC. It is a great honour to showcase our culture not only to our Armenian community, but also to the broader Australian community.

Due to a limited number of seats, we urge you to purchase your tickets as soon as possible through Ticketek. Search the event name ‘Armenia – Beyond Noah’s Land’ on the Ticketek website, or visit the following link.

Easter Picnic

Date: 13 April 2014
Venue: Ararat Cultural Centre, Frenchs Forest

On Sunday the 13th of April, ASDC held its annual Easter event for families and friends. Over 150 people gathered at the Ararat Cultural Centre in Frenchs Forest for a day of games, food and fun.

Throughout the day, groups gathered around the Easter-themed photo-booth for photos, while the youngsters had a great time participating in various activities that were organised by the Social Committee. These activities included an Easter Egg Hunt, Egg and Spoon races, Face Painting and an intensely competitive round of Musical Chairs!

Lahmajoun, Hamburgers, Falafel and Kebabs were served for lunch, followed by delicious desserts that were prepared by our Senior Dancers. Much to the delight of the youngsters and senior dancers, the Easter Bunny made a guest appearance after lunch, bearing a basket of chocolate Easter Eggs for all!

We would like to thank everyone who attended the event and supported ASDC. A special thank you to the Social Committee and the parents who helped out on the day. Stay tuned for more ASDC social events throughout the year!
