Partners Resource Network - PEN Project is one of four Texas Parent Training and Information Centers (PTIs) funded through the U.S. Department of Education. We provide free information, technical assistance and ARD support to parents of children with special needs.

We are excited to announce that, once again, the U.S. Department of Education has awarded Partners Resource Network with funding to continue its mission as the Parent Training and Information Center of Texas for the next five years. We are honored for the opportunity and trust the U.S. Department of Education has bestowed upon us.  Partners Resource Network’s mission is, and will continue to be, to empower and support Texas families and individuals impacted by disabilities or special health care needs. Now more than ever, our commitment to be the leading source of support, information, education and leadership development for Texans with disabilities or special health care needs and their families is at the core of our mission of empowerment through education. As many of you know, Partners Resource Network operates the Texas statewide network of Parent Training and Information Centers (PEN, PATH, and TEAM Projects). As of October 1st, 2020, a fourth project (PACT Project) has been incorporated into our statewide network of PTIs. PACT stands for “Promoting A Changing Tomorrow”, something we strongly work towards at Partners Resource Network. Building Inclusion with PRO
A collaborative session with Parents Reaching Out, New Mexico's Parent Training and Information Center

This session will teach teens and young adults with disabilities what true inclusion is and its impact on those around you. We will also discuss how to use inclusive language, and ways to create inclusion in your community and your workplace.

About our Presenters:
Jenn Donelli is the Communication and Outreach manager at Parents Reaching Out. She has a bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry. She is raising a 9 and 2-year-old girl. She serves as the Board President of the New Mexico Autism Society. Special Education has always been a part of her life. Her favorite part of her job is empowering parents and building strong relationships within the community.

Adam Shand is an Outreach & Youth Liaison at Parents Reaching Out. Despite having Cerebral Palsy, Adam has always worked hard on his inclusion in life. He has been very involved in advocating for the disability community. He works with the Developmental Disabilities Planning Council, serves as Director of Central Region III on the ARC of New Mexico Board of Directors, and an executive board member on New Mexico Allies as a ‘past president’. Adam does this work, not only for the community, but also his family.

Virtual Meetings: Strategies, Tips and Resources
Circumstances may prohibit participants from attending special education meetings in person. In these situations, technology allows one or all of the individuals to participate through the Internet or telephone. Many types of meetings can occur virtually, including IEP meetings, mediations, resolution sessions, and due process hearings. While each of these types of meetings is unique, virtual meetings share common traits and considerations.
