Winner of both the Nobel and Pulitzer prizes, the late Saul Bellow remains one of the giants of the American novel. This fascinating new documentary explores the trailblazing brilliance of the work of this child of Jewish immigrants. Featuring former wives and lovers, children and relatives, and peers including Philip Roth and Martin Amis, The Adventures of Saul Bellow is the perfect companion to the master’s books.
The film, available to watch until Sunday, will be followed on Thursday by a pre-recorded panel discussion with director Asaf Galay, biographer Zachary Leader and academic Saul Zaritt, in conversation with writer Ben Markovits.

GENESIS JEWISH BOOK WEEK EMERGING WRITERS PROGRAMME DEADLINE 31 MAY

Open to anyone over 18 years of age and living in the UK with no more than three years’ experience of being published, emerging writers have just over a fortnight to apply with projects in the fields of Fiction, Non-Fiction (including journalism) and Poetry. The programme offers bursaries of up to £1,500, mentorship, peer-support, a programme of writing seminars and an event at Jewish Book Week 2023 for the ten selected writers.
