We did it! A full school year after two years of Covid interruptions! Some days it seemed like it took forever, and some days it seemed to fly by. Parents both celebrate and mourn the passing of yet another year in the growing up process of their children, while children can't wait for what's next. Whichever side of the fence you're on, congratulations on successfully completing another school year!

Celebrate the gorgeous month of May! The sun is warming, the birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, and the garden is growing. Find out what fun days May has to offer! Visit a local museum on International Museum Day, read a book about snow leopards or pangolins on Endangered Species Day, or create and share a scavenger hunt in your neighborhood with friends on Scavenger Hunt Day!

VaHiBooks congratulates all graduates, whether from elementary school, middle school, high school, college or post-graduate! We salute you for years of hard work and dedication to your studies and your school.

Celebrate the graduates in your life with a gift from VaHiBooks.  Books, gift cards, journals, travel guides, study guides, etc.; we have loads of goodies for your grad.

Join us on May 20 at 10:30 am as we welcome Craig Lucie, author of Hold You. Have your kids said, "hold you!" when they really mean, "hold me?" Hold You is one father's nostalgic storytelling of his daughter's endearing phrase that was just too cute to correct. It is a reminder to us all to make time for each other.

Hold You, by author, Craig Lucie, is both a great picture book with wonderful illustrations for children's ages 0-5, as well as early and beginner readers from ages 5-7. Likewise, this endearing story is a great read for parents and grandparents to enjoy with their own children and grandchildren! Author Craig Lucie lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and two children. Craig has over 20 years of experience as a broadcast journalist and reporter. Craig has won an EMMY for Best News Anchor and has been named Best On-Air Personality in the southeast. After almost two decades in the news business, Craig Lucie started his own company, Lucie, using his background to help other businesses, non-profits and individuals tell their own stories through compelling content creation.

VaHiKids Storytime will meet every Tuesday at 10:30 am. Sheri Dillard, Author of children's book Cowhide-And-Seek, will entertain the group each week with books and fun, keeping the kiddos giggling and learning!

Look at all the fun stuff that our VaHi District is bringing to the neighborhood!

Every Thursday from 3 to 7 pm.
This community hub for local produce and goods will run from March 31 to November 17! Every Thursday, rain or shine, you can stock up on your favorite tasty treats while supporting local farmers and businesses at our Virginia Highland Farmers Market. The Market will have regular farmers, food vendors, flowers and local art, along with monthly rotating vendors; you can look
here in advance to find out which vendors will be present each week. The market is run by Community Farmers Market, sponsored by the Wheeler family, Virginia Highland District Association and the Virginia Highland Farm Burger

Virginia Highland District is excited to be launching Resident Sponsorships to support efforts and annual events! This is a great opportunity to show your support for your local VaHi business district and community. For more information on how to become a neighborhood sponsor, check out VaHi District's website.
