When April came with sunshine
And showers and lilac bloom,
My heart with sudden gladness
Was like a fragrant room.

FUN HISTORY ABOUT TODAY: APRIL FOOLS' DAY!

April Fools' Day is an annual custom on 1 April consisting of practical jokes and hoaxes. Jokesters often expose their actions by shouting "April Fools!"  The custom of setting aside a day for playing harmless pranks upon one's neighbor has been relatively common in the world historically. Although the day has been observed for centuries, its true origins are unknown. though some have proposed that the modern custom originated in France, officially with the Edict of Roussillon, in which Charles IX decreed that the new year would no longer begin on Easter, as had been common throughout Christendom, but rather on January 1. Therefore, those who clung to the old ways were the “April Fools.” Other explanations suggest that the timing of the day may be related to the vernal equinox, a time when people are fooled by sudden changes in the weather. And now you know!
