On behalf of the team at Faraway Bay,
we would like to wish everyone a happy and
safe Christmas, and a memorable New Year!

Flights over the Falls
New in Season 2014, as an extra inclusion for every guest, will be a flight over King George Falls on the journey to and from Faraway Bay. The twin King George Falls is the highest waterfall in Australia – some 180 feet tall – and our guests get to experience it by boat, and now by air.

This stunning natural wonder was featured in Baz Luhrmann’s movie epic ‘Australia’ and we are proud to be the only land-based accommodation to tour this iconic place. After an invigorating shower under the Falls, one of our recent guests described it as being “the most amazing experience of his life” – and the best part is, it’s fully included in every stay.

Rock Art Retreat
20 to 24 May 2014

You are invited to discover the fascinating ancient world of indigenous rock art at our exclusive Rock Art Retreat. Hosted by archaeologist Lee Scott-Virtue and respected Aboriginal elder Ju Ju Wilson, this four-day retrospective will take you on a journey only a privileged few have ever experienced.

Faraway Bay is home to one of the Kimberley’s most prolific collections of Indigenous rock art, including extraordinary examples of the mysterious Bradshaw art that are only accessible from Faraway Bay.

Explore some of Australia’s most important archaeological sites, featuring rock art that is thousands of years old. During your stay, you’ll also get to enjoy everything Faraway Bay is famous for.

Pizza! Pizza!
Everyone loves pizza! And so we decided to create our very own rustic pizza oven, lovingly handcrafted from Faraway Bay rocks and locally-sourced materials.

We’re looking forward to christening it in 2014 with plenty of gourmet pizzas, fresh breads and roasts for our guests. See our Facebook album here.
Wine in the Wilderness
29 July to 2 August 2014

If you love wine, food and travel, then you’ll be in paradise at our Wine in the Wilderness special four-day event.

Hosted by highly respected winemaker, Larry Cherubino, this is a rare opportunity to learn from the craftsman himself, during personalised tastings of his finest wines, plus of exquisite international wines, each individually chosen by Larry.

Revered by wine critics and collectors, Larry has won more awards than any other contemporary winemaker working in Australia today. Places are filling fast for this exclusive, all-inclusive retreat.
